I really love food. Apparently, too much food can be a bad thing. I hear exercise can counteract that problem. I run so I can eat. Thus, I love to run.

Picture:  I just like this one of the kids.  They were eating grapes and yogurt at their table trays (compromise, since I won’t let them eat in the living room and they didn’t want to eat at the table).
3 miles was on the schedule for yesterday.  I didn’t get it done.  That is ok.  That is going to happen from time to time.  I don’t even think I am going to try and make up the miles, we will see.
Yesterday was work as usual from 9-5 and then we got ready to go swimming with the kids.  A woman from our church hosts a swim party every Wednesday for all the youth.  So, we took the kids over and they had fun in the pool and we had hot dogs, chips, watermelon, and ice cream sandwiches.  We stayed a bit later than the 6-8 time frame since the older kids came a bit later (they had cross country practice).  So, we were just enjoying hanging out and chatting with everyone.  It was after 9 by the time we got home.  And then we had to get the kids in bed, etc.  They were pooped!By that time I could have probably got a quick run in before the sun went down, but I decided to just hit the shower and then relax with the hubby for the evening.  Sometimes that is more important.
I have been craving chocolate for like 3 days straight.  Nothing seems to suffice.  So, I am going to try some Wacky cake.  It is a recipe (egg-less chocolate cake) that my cousin gave me a while back and it is super easy to make and delicious.  I usually don’t put anything, like icing, on it.  Maybe some powdered sugar and that is about it.  It should definitely give me my chocolate fix!

Wacky Cake

1 ½ C sugar
2 ¼ C flour
4 ½ T cocoa
1 ½ t soda
¾ t salt
½ C oil
1 ½ T vinegar
1 ½ t vanilla
1 ½ C cold water

Sift dry ingredients twice (or just stir together!).
Add oil, vinegar and vanilla.
Pour water over all and stir well.
Bake in a 9x13 pan at 375F/190C for 30-35 min
This can be mixed right in the cake pan.
Top with favourite icing/frosting if desired!

3 miles on the schedule today.  It is currently 98 degrees (feels like 104) today, so I am sure I will wait til the sun is almost down to go run.  I don’t see anything standing in my way as of right now.

5k race on Saturday.  I am looking forward to it, but it is the last thing on my mind (due to other things in life).  I need to get in gear and stay hydrated.  It is probably going to be stinking hot like last year.  I think it will be challenging, so I can’t wait!  Plus, there is at the very least 4 other people that I know running it.  That is always fun.
